Pipeline Engineering for Stormwater and Wastewater Systems

Pipeline Engineering for Stormwater and Wastewater Systems

August 20-21, 2024 | Online :: Central Time

Professionals in the stormwater and wastewater sectors are well aware of the complexities involved in pipeline infrastructure maintenance and repair. Key challenges include defect detection, adherence to regulatory standards, project management, quality control, and safety prioritization. A lack of expertise in pipeline engineering can lead to escalated costs, project setbacks, non-compliance issues, and jeopardized infrastructure integrity.

The specialized Pipeline Engineering for Stormwater and Wastewater Systems course addresses these issues by providing comprehensive training in project management, technical specifications, and construction practices. Participants gain essential knowledge and skills for effective pipeline maintenance and repair. The course offers:

  • Techniques for identifying pipeline defects
  • Strategies to comply with agency regulations
  • Insights into managing construction projects
  • Methods to assure quality
  • Protocols for safety prioritization

This course empowers professionals to confront these challenges directly, promoting cost-efficient, timely, and compliant operations in stormwater and wastewater system maintenance and repair, thereby ensuring public health, environmental protection, and strengthened infrastructure resilience.

Learning Outcomes

  • Develop a practice project charter that outlines project goals, scope, stakeholders, and deliverables, ensuring clarity and alignment among team members and stakeholders
  • Identify defects in stormwater and wastewater systems through routine CCTV inspections and apply NASSCO defect codes to categorize and prioritize maintenance and repair activities effectively
  • Ensure compliance with agency requirements, including roadway owners, consent orders, county health departments, and other regulatory bodies, by integrating regulatory compliance considerations into project planning and execution
  • Implement appropriate contract design and procurement strategies, selecting the optimal procurement method and drafting technical specifications to meet project objectives while adhering to budgetary and regulatory constraints
  • Define and apply quality assurance measures throughout the project lifecycle, including material assessments, CCTV review, site inspections, and maintenance bond acquisition, to deliver high-quality outcomes and mitigate risks effectively
