Liam Hodgson is a water resources engineer for municipalities and businesses in western Pennsylvania. Currently serving as an Engineer at Gateway Engineers, Inc., they provide investigation, design, contract preparation and administration, and compliance work for municipal clients, private businesses, and institutions. Their work includes sanitary sewer systems, combined sewer systems, storm sewers and culverts, open channels, pump stations, treatment plants, as well as ancillary work in pavement management and land development.
They are known for efficiency, minimal need for micromanagement, technical understanding, and adaptability, as well as helping recruitment efforts through providing a technical representative at Career Fairs. They have contributed to projects meeting EPA Consent Order requirements to reduce combined sewer overflows in several municipalities in the region, involving many additional stakeholders and funding sources each with their own requirements and schedules. Also, they recognized the importance of professional standards through maintaining a NASSCO Pipeline Assessment Certification Program certificate. They have professional involvement in the sewage treatment industry through membership in the Western Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control Association and in the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association.
Liam Hodgson holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a Pipeline Assessment Certification Program certificate from the National Association of Sewer Service Companies. They are committed to providing service and value to taxpayers, maintaining growth in sustainability and the latest technology, and have received a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in Water Resources from the University of Pittsburgh.
Besides water resources engineering, Liam is interested in advancing their knowledge and contributions to zoning and land development reform, energy efficiency and decarbonization (especially in the transportation and HVAC sectors), land repatriation, and decarceration.
