Nuclear Export Controls: Complying with the Amended Part 810 Regulations

Event Description and Agenda:

Earlier this year the Department of Energy (DOE) published a Final Rule amending the Part 810 Regulations (10 C.F.R. Part 810), which govern the export and re-export of unclassified nuclear technology and assistance - for example, to foreign nuclear power projects. This Final Rule is the first comprehensive updating of the Part 810 Regulations in nearly thirty years. This webinar will provide an overview of the significant changes to the Part 810 Regulations resulting from the Final Rule, including the activities and technologies that are within the scope of the amended Part 810 Regulations, the changes to the list of countries that require specific authorization, and the new and revised general authorizations for certain foreign person employees, operational safety, and other activities. We will discuss what you need to do to comply with the new regulations and how to take advantage of certain grandfathering provisions that allow you to continue certain activities while a specific authorization request is pending.
