Case Study: Incorporating Climate Change into the Design of 300ft River Crossing Tower Foundation: Risk, Resiliency and Mitigation

Design measures implemented to improve the resiliency of a new 300 ft tall river crossing tower against climate change impacts, specifically sea level rise will be discussed. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory requirements set forth by the Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs for incorporating climate change impacts in the design of new river crossing transmission towers in accordance with M.G.L. c. 30, § 61. Design tools used to predict sea level rise and engineering measures incorporated into the design of the new tower to withstand the climate change impacts will be covered.
