Eversource EnergyThe Power Quality 101 course offers a foundational exploration of power quality issues and their critical implications for electric utilities, their personnel, and customers. Targeted toward a broad audience in the electric utility space, including electrical engineers, utility operators, facility managers, and compliance specialists, participants will gain insights into the importance of maintaining optimal power quality to support industrial and commercial operations, where even minor disruptions can lead to significant operational and financial setbacks. Beginning with an overview of power quality challenges and their evolution, the course delves into essential topics such as voltage sags and swells, interruptions, transients, harmonics, and flicker.
Attendees will explore advanced mitigation technologies and provide an in-depth review of IEEE standards, ensuring compliance and benchmarking for quality assurance. Through real-world examples, attendees will understand the root causes of power quality disturbances and their impacts on sensitive equipment and critical systems.
This program enables participants to apply theoretical knowledge in troubleshooting real-world scenarios, fostering both technical proficiency and strategic thinking in addressing power quality concerns.
