The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear a challenge brought by the oil industry to court orders that ban fracking in federal waters off the California coast, in a setback to oil companies who argued the moratorium would “undermine the development of oil, natural gas and renewable energy on the entire Continental Shelf.”
