The hurdles to advancement in the energy industry for women have never been higher, with burnout at an all-time high. Women leaders need support at this critical moment. The global energy industry has increased the representation of women on boards over the past few years—from 2% in 2014 to 17% in 2019. (EY Global, 2019) There are more women leaders, but we are still a long way from parity.
