Leadership Essentials: Improving Workflow & Productivity

Leadership Essentials: Improving Workflow & Productivity

July 27, 2022 | Online ::

We are continuously coordinating our actions and assessing our progress through a myriad of daily workflows-sometimes successfully and other times much less so.  Managing workflows among a team of employees with different skills and abilities can be a complex process. When people work outside of their natural flow or are required to work with others unfamiliar to them, this can lead to stress and anxiety. On the other hand, if workers are too familiar with their job and their colleagues, work gets done easily and opportunities to improve may be overlooked.

Work happens in conversation and reflects the capacity of our relationships.  Successful workflows involve clearly understanding who the customer and performer are, what respective commitments and accountabilities each holds, building sufficient relationships, navigating for the key stages of the workflow, as well as understanding what matters (within and beyond the results) and what constitutes a satisfactory outcome.

In this one-day course we will cover:

  • A new way of thinking about work – as a type of conversation flow
  • Customer and performer roles, accountabilities, and the relationship space
  • The mutual dependence of relationships and results
  • Workflow basics – quadrants and actions
  • Diagnosing workflows to improve effectiveness
  • Pragmatic approaches for getting or delivering results using workflow
