Mapping Robust Business Performance (Post-Pandemic) Using Scenario Planning

May 21, 2020 | , ::

Are you finding that the COVID-19 pandemic is creating unprecedented uncertainty for you, your organization and your industry or sector and supply chain?  Are you wondering what the new normal might look like and what it might mean for your organization?  Are you looking to invest or reinvest in proven tools and methods for tackling complexity?

In a crisis, survival dominates. The unprecedented impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the emotions it triggers can overwhelm rational thinking about the future.  Organizations and their leaders must think ahead to the future that lies beyond today’s crisis.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn about scenario planning and how it can be used to make sense of a very uncertain future
  • Review several real-world examples and be exposed to some complementary tools and approaches to explore the future
  • Understand how scenario planning structures uncertainty and builds engagement
  • Explore the economic, social, political, technological, environmental and other impacts that could shape the post-COVID-19 future, especially as they apply to your organization
  • Examine the linkage between the well-intended activities directed toward saving lives today and how they will result in both intended and unintended consequences tomorrow
  • Put scenario planning principles to work by building a shared understanding of what might shape a post-pandemic future some 12 – 18 months out

Join us for this highly interactive event that will model the use of scenario learning to inform your organization’s enterprise strategy.  Subject matter experts deeply embedded in the industry will facilitate attendees to:

  • Create multiple perspectives on the future
  • Assess the forces shaping the future and those perspectives
  • Weigh the issues raised
  • Identify possible responses
  • Evaluate scenario quantification tools
  • Ascertain the use of signposts as an early warning system and the linkage to future outcomes
  • Apply scenario planning analysis to the benefit of your organization

Throughout the entire day, attendees will be able to ask questions and engage fully in this thoroughly participatory workshop.

Learning Outcomes
