Overview

In this course, attendees will learn how to assess their non-revenue water needs, utilize better leak detection methods, understand the products that are currently on the market, and avoid the gimmicks or sales pitches that plague the industry.  The philosophy is leak detection is a lot simpler than what most systems think.  By employing a more common sense and keep it simple approach, this course will educate the user on how to minimize risks and costs associated with selecting and implementing leak detection equipment or services. 

Leak detection is not only about non-revenue water reduction. The course will also address Zero leakage expectations.  Even new systems experience at least 3% loss. The main goal here is to be more proactive rather than reactive.

The course is designed to educate both contractors who engage with leak detection as well as water management companies and municipalities on how having a leak detection system, whether through acoustic survey, pressure monitoring, or flow monitoring, will benefit both capital costs and water system analysis. We will also review the cost-benefits of several factors most systems do not even realize that work in conjunction with smart leak detection systems.

Instructor

James Maushart has been in various aspects of the water industry for over 15 years.  He served as a Leak Detection Specialist for Pennsylvania American Water, overseeing nine districts in Northwestern Pennsylvania, consistently reducing non-revenue water annually; a Water Transfer Supervisor in the Oil and Gas Field; a Project Manager – Western North America for SebaKMT, overseeing a network of leak detection equipment distributors; and currently owns and operates MetroAqua, a leak detection distributorship and leak contracting business covering NV, AZ, NM, TX, and OK.  He is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and has lived in Las Vegas, NV for the past 4 years.

We will be using Microsoft Teams to facilitate your participation in the upcoming event. You do not need to have an existing Teams account in order to participate in the broadcast – the course will play in your browser and you will have the option of using a microphone to speak with the room and ask questions, or type any questions in via the chat window and our on-site representative will relay your question to the instructor.

Cancellation Policy

Your registration may be transferred to a member of your organization up to 24 hours in advance of the event. Cancellations must be received on or before December 10, 2021 in order to be refunded and will be subject to a US $195.00 processing fee per registrant. No refunds will be made after this date. Cancellations received after this date will create a credit of the tuition (less processing fee) good toward any other EUCI event. This credit will be good for six months from the cancellation date. In the event of non-attendance, all registration fees will be forfeited. In case of conference cancellation, EUCIs liability is limited to refund of the event registration fee only.
