The move toward natural gas-powered vehicles (NGV) is picking up speed, and there are many reasons for utilities and other energy companies to convert their service fleets to compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered vehicles. T. Boone Pickens has talked about NGV as part of his Pickens Plan, General Motors just announced it will begin NGV production, and Chesapeake Energy Corporation, one of the nation's largest natural gas producers, was recently recognized by the NAFA Fleet Management Association (NAFA) for its environmental leadership when it was awarded the 2010 Sustainable Fleet Award. Senators Joe Lieberman and John Kerry included support for the production and purchase of NGV in their climate change bill - the American Power Act - with a provision that calls for tax credits that would last a decade. This webinar will provide an overview of NGV basics and answer questions about economic and environmental benefits, suitable fleets, tax incentives and grants, developing and operating fuel stations, and benefits to natural gas providers.
